OT: Looking for a puppy

I will keep my eyes open. I have a friend who has a belgium malinois he is giving away but she wouldnt be a good house pet. Also have another friend in Chattanooga I will give a call.

No he is not a breeder. If your just wanting a house pet I would stay away from the high end dogs but thats just my opinion. I wouldnt buy a high end dog unless I planned on training it.

Consider behavioral tendencies as well as appearance. A working breed may be high energy and require much exercise and outdoor space to avoid a bored dog that just has to eat your furniture. There are many sites like these that may be worth a glance:

I have a beautiful male boxer who needs a good home. I received him as a severely mistreated rescue and it has taken a while to get him ready to go. I know it isn't a shepherd but he is a good dog and he would be free providing you promise to take good care of him. I would keep him but I already have two rescued females and feeding three of them is $

i might be interested.....how big is he?? you have any pics?? i have always wanted a solid black minature schnauzer, but they are pretty expensive

:lol: I agree look into the breeds needs also! A boxer is pretty high energy and would need lots of exercise. Boxers are also on my fav list as a cool pet.
I would also suggest adopting from a rescue or shelter. German shepherds and labs are the 2 most common pure breeds at shelters. Most people don't know about 25% of dogs in shelters are pure bred. Not trying to be a bummer but Knoxville alone euthanized over 15,000 dogs last year in it's animal control facilities (which are very well run by the way). There are lots of good dogs out there that no one wants

My freinds once dumped a whole litter of pure breed German shepards at the shelter. She bread once and sold and it was so much trouble and hassel when the male got her preggo again right away she just took em right to the pound at 8 weeks. Someone got great dogs for $50.
I agree we gave our mastiff away for free if you are into pure bread dogs only. He had issues with men but was a true baby with children. He just needed socializing better is all. We just couldn't afford a fence for him and our neighborhood was freaked out by him and raising a big stink when he was outside. So great dogs can be found and I think someone loving there pet enouph to go through a rescue to find it a home may be better than the pound. Not that the ones in the pound are not great but you may get more history from a pet resuce on the particular dog as to why he was gave up if its an adult.
