Basically to babysit anyone if they drink to much. Make sure they are hydrated, etc. The boss lady will give salary info. It is for the Miami Rum Festival at the Miami Airport Convention Center adjoining the Doubletree by Hilton. I goofed on the hours. It is also on Friday.
"Please let me know right away about hiring a nurse for the EMT station at Miami Rum Festival this year. The hours are 3-7 PM on Friday (4) and 12 to*7 PM*on Saturday and Sunday (7 hours per day) so it will be a total of 18 hours."

If anyone is planning to attend as a customer I HIGHLY recommend that you have a designated driver or stay at the hotel. There is some info below on a group rate if there are any rooms left. I know they sell out quick.

This event is for people who want to taste, enjoy and learn about different rums. It is NOT for those who want to drink to much and get drunk. If you drink a little to much (emphasis on little) there will be a room to go and sit for a while. If you get drunk you will be escorted out by the FMHP. Yes, Robin takes this serious.
I am not a paid employee. Robin and Rob are good friends. Mike and I have been volunteering the last 5 out of 6 years. Our "job" has been to tally the results from the International Rum judging. We know first who won what in which category, but our lips are zipped. : ))) We also help and attend ourselves some of the rum seminars which are very informative.
As for my caps, it is to place emphasis on the word. I don't know why so many people think caps are for yelling/shouting.

Went to that festival last year. Found a couple of new tasty rums. Of course I also confirmed my taste in rum is for expensive stuff

I know the feeling. ; ))) It is a good way to find out what you like and don't like. Nothing is worse than spending $$$$$ on some rum because of great reviews and then find out you don't like it. Ok, there are worse things. It just sucks if it doesn't taste as good as it sounds.Went to that festival last year. Found a couple of new tasty rums. I don't think we have ever met so if you go let me know and I can introduce myself. My main volunteering is done by Friday am as the winners are announced Friday evening. I also help with other things, because I can only do so much tasting per day or else I go back to the room and crash. I am there from Wednesday - Monday.
There are some good tasting less expensive rums out there and this is a good way to find out. If you don't make it this year and want to try some or get some rum names just pm me. If you do go I can point you to some different ones. I will also be a guest judge since I am friends with the show producers. "Guest" means I will do some rum tasting with the judges, but my scores won't count. I am super far from being an expert, but it's a lot of fun. :beer:
