OT: Moving boxes

Has anyone just finished moving and is wondering what to do with all those empty boxes?

Or do you work for a restaurant or someplace that gets good, sturdy boxes and ends up mashing them for recycle?

Grocery stores used to be the old standby, but they have gotten mighty chincy with the boxes.

hey if you need some let me know. I can get some from work. Just let me know what sizes you need.

Just stop by a Costco around 10 am as long as you have a membership and ask you can take about 5-6 good boxes a day.

Mario, I prefer medium sized, but some bigger and smaller ones would be good, too. Any you could scrounge up for me would be most appreciated! Just tell me where and when to pick them up.

That's good to know, thanks. Are they the cut up ones for packing, or good ones with lids?

Nicole I can give you 50+ boxes that are rated to hold 100 lbs each... measure 30x20x21 - exactly 7.29 cube each. PM me if your interested....free of course.

Nicole,

I have a few good moving boxes. If you want them, please stop by either Saturday late afternoon or Sunday. I live in Placentia, which is about 10 minutes from you locally. LMK. Thanks

where u moving to?

Huntsville, Alabama

Thanks for the offers, everyone. I think I am going to start with Mario's boxes (should be clean and new-ish) and beefjerkygood's (although they are a bit big) and if that doesn't pack everything... well, I need to have a yard sale!

nicole. moving.. did we all just feel a disturbance in the force?
bust of luck with the move. i hope you stay active on the so cal board. hmm or are we going to have to go to the alabama threads=)

Hi Nicole, I get out of work late today but can drop off the boxes tomorrow. Let me know if that works out for you. I do plan to stop by Jeffs so its not a big deal.

Whether they are cut or not depends on the store manager. Usually if you come in around opening we can sneak a few to you with lids.

Call me before you come over, Mario. I have a busy day tomorrow so I don't know exactly when I will be around.

If it's not raining too bad you could always leave them out front, but I would at least like to be around to say thank you!

Huntsville? That's quite a haul.

Try fast food restraunts. They leave all of their supply boxes out by the dumpster and will not hassle you. I also recommend picking up some of those plastic storage bins when they go on sale at Target. They are good for spillables, fertilizers, etc.

I also kept the essentials in those containers for easy access and recognition.

Oh yeah, and whatever you do, don't pack the box knife.
