I was very lucky to get to attend this Monday night at the Nashville Symphony. I was front row center. I didn't get to take as many pics as I would have liked. Cameras wasn't allowed but people was still takin' them. They told us not to, so I stopped and took a few more at the end of show.

Bob Babbitt invited me to the big after party that was held at the Musicians Hall of Fame museum. I had a great time and got to talk to and meet alot of people. Peter Frampton, Mary Wilson, Scotty Moore, Bob Moore, James Burton, and more. It was a heavy crowd and hard to get pics. But I was enjoying the conversations and drinking so I didn't really mess with the camera. I did get a pic with Bob Babbitt and Mary Wilson (The Supremes) She and Peter Frampton rocked the house with The Funk Brothers. Gotta love Motown!

With Bob...

Holy cow! Thats awesome Steve!

Not to mention, that hall sounds AMAZING. Its causing a bit of a stir.

If you've not seen the symphony there (Schermerhorn) DO go! I can't emphasize enough how awesome that hall sounds. Tons of technology in that building too.

The room is COMPLETELY floating... IE, isolated in every way. Nothing is acoustically coupled with ANYthing. The noise floor is unbelievable in that hall. If you ever have the chance to be in there by yourself, just sit still. Its is RIDICULOUSLY quiet! One of my professors is an archivist there (IE, he records every performance and they store it :) ) and he was telling us that you can't even hear thunderstorms in the hall. Its that crazy! Not to mention the organ goes down to like 22hz or something like that! Craziness!

Ok, I'm calming down. Sorry guys... I'm an acoustics geek... I haven't studied them too much, but I REALLY enjoying good sounding rooms...

Anyway, congrats again Steve! :)

Oh, and if anyone would like to go... let me know. My wife and I get very discounted student tickets and would love to join some people to a night of symphony. :)

Brandon, yea that place was nice and the music did sound really good. It was my first time there. I really enjoyed it. I think the show will be airing on t.v. Not sure of when, but they was filming. They also made us practice our clapping at the beginning of the show.

Steve

 Nice! Did it take you long to get the hang of clapping? It requires lots and lots of practice. :D

Brandon

I have been practicing my clapping lately. So far I have only broken a few things and slapped myself twice. I'll get it down some day.

haha, I don't know what the deal was with the clapping. They was recording the clapping I guess to edit it in. We had to do the "golf clap". Then had to get loud. I don't know...lol All I know is when the Funk Brothers performed with Peter Frampton, Mary Wilson, and Dobie Gray...the place was rockin'.

One thing that was kind of funny was when I went to meet Scotty Moore at the after party, he was outside waitin' for his ride I believe. I walked up to him and said "Scotty...I had to come and meet you before you leave". He shook my hand, smiled, and was laughing as he said "Yea...it's past my bedtime". Then asked if I enjoyed the show, and talked a little. Was a pretty cool experience...
