OT netflix for wii

The Netflix "interface" on the XBOX is a lot nicer. A lot easier to browse movies.

The XBOX interface actually lets you search Netflix and add things to your queue. The PS3 version has a lot of "top" categories you can pick from, but no place to just do an actual search.

So I end up firing up my laptop, adding movies to my instant queue, and then they are available on the PS3.

My wife is a huge fan of it on the xbox. She hates the ps3 verison. It is kind of silly to have to put in a disc to stream the movies.

I have a PS3 that I can watch netflix on,I don't even play games on it, I just use it as a BD player and a netflix movie player..

yep, that works great for the XBOX - actually you don't need the disk at all, just load the service up.

But you can't do that on the PS3. I just keep the disk in the PS3 all the time. I use it to stream movies a lot more than I play games.

Actually thats what I just did on my wii

You'll still need the 3DTV and glasses... I was at Best Buy today watching Monsters vs. Aliens and drooling all over their floor.

They are selling a package deal with a 3D BD player. If there was a package with just the TV and glasses (w/ the same discount they were giving for the other package) - I'm sure I would have walked out of there w/ a 55" 3DTV.

But alas... no reason to buy a 3D BD player when my PS3 will do that in 3 months.

wow no..that will be really sweet

It will be an upgrade to existing systems.

Now the downer for me... I was doing reading on this, and turns out 3D HDTV requires HDMI 1.4, which only recently came out. I recently got my entertainment system the way I want it with a receiver that does HDMI pass-through (plus upscaling for SD video) - so now everything is switched through my Onkyo. Slick as can be.

But... the Onkyo only does HDMI 1.3b. Argh!

is that something that will be an upgrade to existing systems or only new ones

by josh a year and you havent posted once now in one day you have doubled your post count. Nice to see ya back man

lol...im just happy to finally have netflix on my tv without dragging my computer around

being honest the resolution isnt that good I am watching bolt for the 500th time with my son right now and you can even see a difference with this although I need to get the better cables

Yes you do. They aren't cheap, seems crazy to pay like $30 for them, but it really helps.

FYI - if you don't need them right away, order them online. Amazon has them for $12.99 + shipping (unless you have Prime).

thats easy you have everything you need I sell the nano for ya and then you have a good amount of cash to get fish with

True, I do have everything. I gotta sit down and plan it all out first. I'm kinda anal that way. Well, I learned to be after wasting a lot of time/money on mistakes in the past.

I feel a build thread coming on... for real this time. Not the tease I gave you all a year or so ago.

I have some trips coming up this summer which tend to scare the hell outta me for tank maintenance. I figure I can probably count on either you or Lando to tank-sit, right? ;)
