Just Reefin'
Sorry, can't contain myself, but my new '12 Forester XT Touring is on the way! Should be here in 2.5 weeks!!

Can you tell I'm excited?!?!?! :celeb1:

SWEET! Subaru's are my favorite :) I gotta take out my motor in my 03 and rebuild it this thanksgiving... stupid headgaskets blew :(

Did you get the XT in the 5spd?

EDIT: not sure if you're into the whole modded car scene. but a SWEET fozzy xt at the another level car show this year...

The XT Tourings are auto, so I believe it's the 4speed workhorse. I'm not a huge modder, and don't drive stick so auto is just fine for me :-) I can't wait to get my new toy. Then in January, we get to bring our new baby home from the hospital in the Forester! Woohoo!

Funny thing is, I am trading in my '10 Forester 2.5X Premium, and getting about 80% of my value back in a trade, so it's costing me a couple of sheckles to get the new one. Subarus hold their value, and we are certainly a Subaru family!

oh yea, for sure. Subaru's i think retain their value the best! They last forever with the proper maintenance. I am all subaru, haha, have my 03 impreza and picked up a 01 legacy 2.5gt limited this past summer. Hopefully after about a year or so, when my sister is off to college as well. I want to sell both of em and get a 06/07 wrx.

Good luck on it! If you ever have any troubles with it or don't feel like going to the stealerships for some maintenance, feel free to hit me up. I've done my own work on all my cars from oil changes to rebuilding the whole motor.

Thanks everyone, I reserve the right to ask you guys questions, really basic questions as this is my first XT :-) I can't wait.... The color is even the same as my current Forester, it's how much I love this car.

I just wanted XT power!

we have an '10 (or '11, cant' remember) forester... always had a subaru, but this one has been plaqued with mechanical issues. When we get rid of it, we'll be replacing it with the new MINI SUV/hybrid. Oh, and the forester gas is terrible, much worse than advertised. Love subarus, but disapointed with the execution of this one.

Really?? I'm surprised to hear that. I current have a '10 2.5X Premium, and it gets MUCH better gas mileage than advertised. In my city driving I get 24-25 where they advertise 20, and when I commute downtown for meetings I can 30-33 sometime, where they advertise 26...

My wife has a '10 Outback 2.5i Premium, and they advertise 21\27 I believe, and she routinely gets 36-37mpg when we drive to her parents house in Michigan. Around town she kicks my butt with an average of 27.8-29MPG.

I love our Subarus and we have had zero problems with them..

we have the same as yours.. 2.5 prem. 18 city 20ish hwy. It goes in this week to get the window motors replaaced.

Wow, that sucks, sorry to hear that. I have a neighbor with the same model year, and she has also had nothing but great experiences so might be that you just got one of the bad statistics unfortunately. I've had nothing but great experiences with this car, and it has saved our lives on several occasions. I couldn't imagine a winter without our Subies.

ya, we must of gotten a lemon. Actually, my MINI cooper does better in the snow then the forester does. go figure.

Complaining about MPG around 18 made me LOL.....

You're about 10 MPG too high..... :lolspin:

Ya, my wife's outback is going to be for the economical family uses, and mine will be for fun family uses (and myself!!). The XT won't get as good of gas mileage, and requires premium gas, but who the hell cares! This car is just fun to drive :bounce1: :bounce1: :bounce1: :bounce1: :bounce1:

Funny that I see this.... I am actuality about to go test drive something.... for the 3rd time... a Lotus.... my wife told me to stop talking about it of I don't buy it... which means to me....Go buy it. !!! So tonight I'm going to show her the car ..I'm so excited... very big diffence from my A6 to that... I hope I won't regret it

I know handling will suck in winter.... but I will just get a beater for that...:(

I have an 07 Legacy 2.5 GT limited 5sp manual, love it, goes like a rocket , basically the same as a wrx but in a more comfortable car. This is our 3rd subaru, no problems so far, had to get a new battery under warranty, thats all. I get about 18 city, and usually 26-28 hwy, but it does take premium due to turbo. Snow wise, pretty good, good traction but bad ground clearance, you'll like your forester, they are good cars, but do get an extended warranty, especially with a turbo motor. Get the warranty from subaru directly, not from dealer, they charge more than double for the same thing.

yea, good call on the warrenty. I believe the Ej255's are prone to oil starvation in one of the cylinders. So keep up with routine checks of your motor oil levels. I think the pistons in them also have weak ringlands. These are worries if you are gonna be driving harder than normal though. Still a good idea to keep up with checking oil levels.
