ANyone have any Large 12" + Pleco's they need to sell? I have a 450g Freshwater tank at my restaurant and i lost my 16" pleco and need to replace him Please
Don't worry. The gourami is gone. It was about 18" long. Amazing to see how it could easily fold itself to turn around in it's 55 gallon tank. It would fold its head around then swim past its own body. Brought it with me on this trip to Cincinnati for someone with an empty fw 265 gallon tank.
My pleco is about 14". PM me. I'll be back in Cleveland tonight sometime.
I dropped off the pleco. It was purchased as a queen arabesque pleco, and looked just like one but grew well past the 5" maximum for that species. It still has the scribbled pattern of the queen arabesque but must be some other species since most of the catfish sold under that name do stay small. It's not the common pleco which either has no markings or small dots.
The brown algae in the tank is freshwater diatoms. Fewer fish eat it than eat the regular green stuff.

It was called Lure Bistro. Very well patronized place. I didn't stay, we had eaten earlier but I'm sure it must be a great place to eat and drink. The tank in my pleco experience needs a couple more large plecos to spread out any aggression from the red devil/hybrid parrots. Only the fins and eyes are at risk, since a pleco is otherwise well armored, but the tank would be no place for my large sailfin pleco, or my gold seam plecos. The Queen arabesque lookalike has the beginnings of bony scutes on his sides too, which ought to give a predator pause. I had a pleco once which developed rows of large "fangs" along the sides. Looked like something out of Jurassic Park.
You should head out to the Greater Akron fish show in Tallmadge Sunday if you want to see some unusual and excellent catfish.
