Hey guys, just got back from an AMAZING trip to Hawaii.
Ten days; five in Kauai, five in O' ahu.
Eight boat trips, 17 dives.
This was the first time in have dived, and it was incredible! I saw everything imaginable:
sharks, turtles, octopus, slipper losbters, mantis shrimp, seals, dolphins, eagle rays, cleaners shrimp, tons of eels, and millions of other fish.
Ill have some of the better pictures up, brought an Olympus C-5060 with me with the underwater housing and got some great picks. Just my blurb to convince everyone to get certified. There is nothing like it!

Ben -

I am getting certified in July (see my thread). This Friday, Dolphin Scuba is having their June Madness Sale. Pricing for some of the stuff is awesome. But as aways - you need to do some comparison shopping because not all the price is "the cheapest."

I don't think I will be getting an underwater camera for a while. I'd love to see some of your pictures when you get a chance to post them.

One quick question: Do you know what thickness wetsuit you were wearing in Hawaii? I am purchasing a 3mm full size wetsuit for Cozumel and was wondering if that would work for Hawaii.

Minh

I used a 3 mil rental, sometimes a shorty, sometimes full length. shorty got a little cold past 80 ft, but it was still okay
good luck!
Ben

I would suggest a full suit. not so much for the cold. the cold is manageable, it does get chilly sometimes like fishstixs05 said but it gives you more protection from cuts and scrapes from reef etc.

Thats a start. I'm planning on putting together a slideshow side with some of the 1700 pictures taken with my camera, my girlfriend's camera, and her father's camera during the course of the trip.

commerson frogfish! very hard to find in Hawaii cuz they match in so well!
Is that the Seatiger?? (sunken ship near ala moana?)
I dove there a couple times. Wasn't to impressed but it was a good night dive.

Not yet Minh, after this trip I am sure we will :).

Hey Tony. Are you and your fiancee divers?

Cool. :D Stacy and I start our certification in July, but won't be certified until August. We just purchased most of our scuba gear. :D
