OT: Sick Grandma

Hi everyone,

My grandma in Colombia had a cerebral hemmoridge and she lives in Colombia. I need to get to Colombia but don't have the money to get my whole family there. My wife and 3 kids have never met her. She is still conscience but they do not give her more than a week or so to live. I'm not asking for handouts, but for hookups. Is there anyone here that knows of a discount or good deal I can get on going to Cali, Colombia or Bogota, Colombia? I have 3 kids ages 4, 3 and 9 months old. Any help in the right direction or advice you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Priceline? I'm too picky, myself, but if I had to get a trip that matched my budget and I wasn't picky about flight times, I'd plug in the $$$ I could spend, close my eyes and click the submit button. Who knows, an airline might have space and be willing to sell the seats at your price.

(Once you send your offer, though, you can't back out if an airline accepts it.)

Yeah, I tried priceline for whatever fits in my budget but it still way too much. Does anyone else have suggestions?

I think some airlines offer special rates for condolence, they might extend that to you in this situation. I don't know. Good Luck.

No, I meant their bidding feature -- they only thing PriceLine had in the old days. They call it "Name Your Own Price." You set all your acceptable parameters (including price), and they match it to a set of unpublished airline parameters for how low they are willing to go to fill a seat that would otherwise not sell. You don't get to review prices, you either get tickets at that price or not.

The condolence rates are a good idea, too.

Rates to Colombia are high to begin with so perhaps you may want to think of leaving your 4 & 2 year old behind.
I feel for you..my Father's side of the family is/was all in Bogota and I wish I could have gone out to visit more.
I really hope you make it there in time,if it's not possible don't beat yourself up,Grandma's have a way of understanding
