OT: Where I went (off topic photos)

I was gone for a few weeks, I had to take a break from my insane schedule. What resulted was me just procrastinating for two more weeks.

I took my lady with me, she helped me with all of these shots:

my gal:

haha the biggest I can go is ~3300 pixels wide, but because of some reasons I won't be giving those out. Please let me know the exact dimensions of the resolution you're using and I'll send that out to you guys =)

man you are so talented at this stuff. What kind of SLR camera you recommend Kinetic? I am looking to get one and not sure which is the good one.

get the best sub-professional DSLR you can afford. even with tons of features on them, they still work in "point and shoot" modes, and allows you to explore and try new things, eventually getting better and better, using the powerful tools on your camera that you discover as you find new things to take photos of.

checkout the BAR photography forum for more details on recommendations ;)

Nice shots... you make Kauai look even more sureal than it is. Makes me want to jump on the plane to see some of those places... oh wait, I'm going in a couple weeks =P

wanna teach a dSLR newbie the ropes?

By the way, where was the trailhead to waipo'o falls... was that off the 550?

When are you going exactly? I will be going on some photo shoots with a group of friends around the bay area soon, and you would be more than welcome to come along! It's the best way to learn, we can all help you out. We're all learning ourselves too =)

The trailhead is across the street from the parking lot of the Restaurant / Museum, when we went there was a YWCA Camp sign there. Get maps at the Museum, but beware, they don't show all intersections and aren't that good if you don't stick to the hard paved trails. I like the really difficult trails, so I had a hard time figuring the trails out. I used a combination of the map, a GPS unit, which showed me a compass and the streams and rivers I was near.

yeah, i miss it already, it's only been 4 days =(

for a moment today sitting at work, I was like

"goodness, what am I doing here when a place like Kauai exists?"

then the thought of all my bills and coral I wanted popped into my head, and I said, "oh yeah..."
