OT: WoW, let me tell ya

I personally think they have to. I also think they will. It's nice that deal went through as it set the stage for what we're asking for. Especially since guerin has 8 more goals. I think age might be a factor though when renting.

Morning can't get here any sooner. We should know tomorrow Guerin's fait. According to hockeybuzz.com "Blues will make a big pitch to sign Guerin tomorrow according to sources..." they release that kind of statement to heat up the talks and raise the price.

Detroit is in negotiations for him as the number one probability. We have to play them one more time and I sure as heck don't want to see him in that jersey. :thumbdown

Bill Guerin NEEDS to be traded. He's played over his head this year. There's no need to re-sign another aging player to a contract that's going to strap the team down.

Trade Guerin away to Detroit. If they want him that bad they'll give up one of their young studs. Justin Abdelkader, Igor Grigorenko, Cory Emmerton? I'd take any of these three guys. Let Detroit overpay for a little bit Guerin and the Blues receive future stars.

Trade Legace as well! Sanford has proven that he can handle the job. Plus there's Bacashua. He's not bad. Probably not a starter though. Don't they also have that 20 year old stud? Johnson? Is that his name? I can't remember.

Just trade these guys, as there's definitely some youth in the organization that can be utilized here and take all the saved money and sign some big name youngsters in the off-season.

Trading Tkachuk for all that was a great trade. Tkachuk is past his prime. Don't try signing him. Once again, no need for an old player. Leadership skills? Somebody's gotta stand up someday and lead the team. Tkachuk, Weight, Drake, and others won't be here forever.

I agree with most of your statements. Guerin has had a good year but a guaranteed #1 and player, I'll take. Plus, I agree, we shouldn't expect that out of him every year

Legace is already signed 2 more years

You are high if you think sanford has proven himself.

Bacashua won't ever be a stud in this league

Drake is not the most talented but no one has ever questioned his heart and I think Drake is a great pick for a captain.

I didn't realize legace is signed. oh well, he's played pretty good in net. I don't have any knocks on him, I just feel Sanford can play equally as well as Legace. He's proven as much as Legace has. Neither has done all that much. Legace has won a championship, but I don't think he was the starting goaltender. In the past 10 years I can't name a goalie that HASN'T played well behind Detroit. They always send out a solid club.

Also, I don't watch much hockey. I just read news articles when I don't have any other sports to read. So everything I say can only go so far and I wouldn't place any bets on it. (Legace contract for example, missed that one  )

Guerin's gone- San Jose gave us their first-round draft pick in 2007, forward, Ville Nieminen and prospect Jay Barriball

Jay Barriball, the leading scorer for the University of Minnesota (as a freshman).

Mayers supposedly rumored going to the Leafs "45 minutes till deadline"

WOW again, looks like Mayers is going to re-sign.

Jamal Mayers has agreed to a 3 year contract extension.

Blues forward Petr Cajanek has cleared waivers and has been told he will be in the lineup tonight unless he's traded by deadline.

I love trade deadline day, almost took today off.

Stange being sellers the last couple of seasons though.
I like the deals so far!!

It's ok. Not what you want to do but I'll tell you what, these deals are tremendous! They got everything they could for them. I'm impressed. Good steps towards rebuilding. Too bad we can't turn back time and get the draft pick for someone like Crosby or Ovechkin. I'd like some young speed.

Not too impressed with this trade. The 1st round pick won't be very high, and the two players received aren't anything special. The young guy isn't quite receiving the greatest reviews either.

Let's keep trading away anybody over 30 in their last contract year. :D

You can't expect to get the same as you did for keith. They are 2 different caliber players.

Can't be worse than what they had!

On Guerin - I didn't expect them to get what they did for Tkachuk. I wouldn've been more pleased with a 1st and 3rd round pick. same or seperate years. The two players they got are just roster fillers. (well 1 for now). I'd rather they leave him in SJ and bring up some youth from the system since they're not planning on any runs to the playoffs this year. that's just my opinion though.
