In an attempt to further gain some info on each other I thought it be cool to see what other club members like to do with their free time mainly what are your money suckers.

My main hobby is off roading and salt water systems soon to follow. I'm only a 19 year old college student so funds are limited but I do manage to make some money tutoring all high school math and sciences during the school year.

Here's my 1982 CJ7 that I picked up last summer after doing a construction gig.

Picked it up looking like this and drove and wheeled it like so for a couple a while

Put a lift and bigger tires on it.

Hey Frogster, would you happen to have any more pics of that Jeep, lol... joking.

of course we all have other hobbies. its what we do while we save enough money to go BACK TO THE LOCAL FISH STORE (LFS)!!

Here is a project i have...

why do we have the same interests, saltwater fish is random enough. Ive built at least 10 old 4x4s in my lifetime. haha im 27. currently own an H3, id be down to wheel sometime guys. nothing crazy since this is my first new car, and daily driver.

as far as modifications, it really doesnt need any but im taking off the side steps they they hang too low.

my other hobbies include raising AKC Australian Cattle Dogs. Music, and main one is my Girlfriend. haha.

oh and jeep looks good, good choice in tires. heres a list of what ive built if i can remember them all. some more extensive than others. kinda in order and sort of end result, each build has many things that went into it. bear in mind i upgraded axles and gears and lockers on most. its not just about being big for no reason, its gotta function.

69 jeepster commando (spring over, 33s)
71 blazer (8inch 38.5s)
79 f250 ext cab camper special(6inch 35s best truck ever)
99 f250
89 f250 (35s)
84 chevy shortbox (resto 3/4 tons 35s)
86 blazer (1 tons 40 inch boggers)
96 dodge 2600 (1 tons, 35s)

current is the H3 where ill be upgrading in the future.

Great looking Jeep! My buddy a very few years back, offered me his CJ5 for a great price and that thing was cherry!!! Had soft/bikini top with the original straight 6 which was a great engine w/a straight body. It went everywhere: dunes, mtn's, trails, it just went.

Now my wife and I are looking for one or an old FJ. I told her with the top down, doors off on a beautiful day, it is almost like riding a very LARGE motorcycle.

The one that got away "“ my first vehicle

Still wish I had never sold it!

Sweet list! My jeep will mostly be an "expedition style" rig so I'm fine with my stock axle and 3.73 gears. I do have a front locker coming in on Monday will be installing that weekend. Still wondering what to do with my rear since the locker I want will require a differential job!

Awesome projects everyone!

im guessing you have an amc 20. and im guessing you want an ARB by your comment. haha. well ive never seen it to where you have a front locker but not a rear one. so just buy a cheap something for the rear. dont weld it though. it aint strong enough.

My H3 is pretty bad cool, has 4.56 gears. Electronic Full Locker in the rear, 4lo transfer case, and 33s stock. plus i drive it everywhere and gets almost 20 miles a gallon freeway. it was the perfect choice for me.

Yap the good ole 20. I actually want the Detroit TruTrack limited slip mostly because of the price and good road manners. I might just have to settle with a differential job and possibly lowering the gears a little.

You know how us jeepers are against hummers in general. But I'll leave that ****ing contest out of here as long as it gets you where you need to go!

Edit: Also my front locker choice is one from seeing people do that and perform very well on the trails. To me it seems as though one of the front tires is usually digging for traction or is in the air.

since i did not draw for elk, the hobby that is taking up all my thinking time and spare change is my '84 chevy K10

Picture008-1-1.jpg

not doing much to it now, except just cleaning it up a bit. i have owed it since about 98. it was my daily untill i got a company truck, since then it has just sat and is beginning to rot so i figured i better do something with it.

this is the turkey i got this spring. shot twice with a bow but the broad heads flew funky so i blasted with a twelve guage.

PIC_0118.jpg

this is the elk my brother shot in '08 (his first time to elk hunt so he got the first shot. i never got to take a shot) he shot it at 200 yds with a 30-06. really nice 6x6 that scored 290.

haha, i started with a jeep. and broke every single thing on it except the transfer case i think. thats why i wont own another jeep. you have to strengthen everything after a while.

it did help alot though, since i was in high school with no money, it forced me to learn how to work on it. since it broke down all the time you know. haha.

I'm not much of a 4x4 guy but I have a couple of toys

The Typhoon's been getting a 2005 Vortec motor and hybrid turbo since the beginning of the year. The only thing left is to get my ECM re-pinned for the wideband and my emulator is still on backorder. hoping to get her back on the road by the end of the month

I've been craving a diesel lately, I may buy a 2500 HD sometime next year

Although not my cup of tea I can appreciate the time and effort put into the build.

If you want a diesel get a Dodge Ram nothing compares to that IMHO.

i have been neglecting things and haven't been on here as frequent, becuase i went to ohio and picked up my new hobby. it is a keystone bullet premier 31BHPR. we will be at the butte this weekend if anyone is up there give me a call.
