Other Tang Veggies

I was just curious if anyone offered their tangs vegetable matter other than nori. For example, from time to time when I was managing a LFS, I would bring in quick-steamed (and VERY well scrubbed) heads of broccoli. It took them a little bit, but soon the larger tangs and a magnificent foxface would chew the broccoli down to the branches, all the little florets gone!

I just figured it would be nice to offer them a bit of variety from time to time. There's more than one single type of algae right? Share your thoughts! Thanks!

They dont get many nutrients from veggies like broccoli or lettuce. I know that you can use something like Sea Veggies with varying degrees of success (based on the colour you feed).

I feed romaine daily and sometime broccoli. I have a naso tang that I bought from a fellow reefer that was raised entirely on romaine for over 6yrs. From a baby to full size adult with streamers. So that was all the evidence I needed.
I feed nori along with romaine daily. The is also what the georiga aqurium feeds their tangs. (romaine)

OR sea lettuce. pretty macro algae that grows quick enough to keep up with one tang. (at least in my experience, with a med sized purple tang) but that was at the lfs. starting to grow my own sea lettuce.

There are so many algae based foods on the market right now. Broccoli, romaine etc, is just a waste of time. Always seemed like lettuce in, lettuce out. No change.

JMO.
