OTP-2000 on octopus DNW-110?

Normally these skimmers come with a OTP-1000 1000lph pump attached. However, yesterday while trying to to the mesh mod to my OTP-1000 pump, I noticed the impeller shaft was broken. Instead of paying $44AUS for a new impellor (impeller is only $10, however they want $33 postage), I'm considering forking out a bit more cash and attaching a OTP-2000 2000lph pump.

Anyone know if the pump will fit straight on, and if this will acutally be worth the hassle + extra cash?

From USA, I look online USPS and Priority SMALL flat rate (Sizes: 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8") is $12.95 USD to Australia.

I assume one can fit a bitty impeller, padded, in those dimensions...
