Jay,

I think your 80 looks awesome, I wouldn't add any more rock. My 75 has too much rock and i'm realizing that once my corals get bigger I won't have enough open space.

Nice little corals for the nudis huh?

Brian

Brian â€"œ I’m agreeing with you. The temptation is to order another “package”!!:) I need to throttle back the urge to put any more in the tank for a few months at least. My Flower Anemone is not looking good. Has anyone ever seen these split? It does not move from it’s location but it extends itself then retracts and sometimes it looks beautiful then I look over and it contracts into itself. The Condy has pretty much doubled in size and is doing great.

Yes the corals were fantastic and I really can’t wait to trade some frags of my own with someone someday. I think that is the cool thing about this hobby â€"œ everyone I have run across is very helpful and she was more than helpful. Apparently the nudis have already laid there first egg coil!!

Red_Six â€"œ I got that snail at the LFS and I swear he has doubled in size. He is a one snail wrecking crew though. Very strong and uses the shell to move what he pleases and I thought the crabs would be bad!! But he’s worth it because of his cleaning abilities!! I posted this pic earlier of a snail that I think was just on the rock as a hitchhiker when Richards sent the rock. He crawled on top of a muscle or clam like thing on the rock and started to deposit this purple snotty stuff. After he was done I noticed the clam shell was laid open and empty so I removed this snail to my quarantine tank!

Jay,

Yeah, she is awesome, you don't find people that dedicated to tiny inverts that often. Glad to hear they made it alright and I want to thank you again for caring about them :)

That "snail" in your tank is probably a predatory whelk from the description you gave and it will never play nice in your main tank so the sump is a good place for it. Of course hard to ID from that picture, if you want to try the shallow cup picture technique I suggested earlier then we can at least try to confirm whelk.

Brian

bobt2 - Wow. Three tanks of TBS!! Sounds sweet!! It's tempting that is for sure. Maybe I can talk the wife into turning her freshwater tank into a saltwater one!!

Jay

yea, i started out with a 33long and 30 package. that worked out so well i got a 75. than pat downsized and i got a bunch of rock from her and turned my 55 fo to a fowlr. that lasted a few weeks and i upgraded the lighting and started adding some coral to that and now i dumped my 30 gal guppy tank and am turning that into a frag tank

Last night I found two more lice =\ Its been almost 3 months since I added the package, and almost 2 months since Ive seen a lice.

On a side note, I found that they were very visible at night after the lights had been off for a while. They were swiming around eradicaly and the moonlights lit up their bright white bodies. Once they "landed" I just turned on my flashlight and grabbed some tweezers and squished them. They didnt move at all despite having a flashlight right on them, which made squishing them pretty easy.

What should I feed this tank?

75g Package - No fish

Normally I feed 300mL Phytoplankton every Friday as that's the day it comes in from a local brewer. I've just found out that for the next two weeks he is out of town.

Any recommendations?

Wow! 300ml at one time? I feed 30ml every other day of DT's phytoplankton to my 75G.

Bobt2 - Glad to here it Pat is fine!

jezzeaepi â€"œ I’m surly no expert but I thought they were pods and safe. This is what I see on my rock. From Melevs website. Not my picture. Is that what you are seeing?

amphipod.jpg

You can see more here from Melev’s website.

elzool â€"œ I was told to try Kents Micro•Vert and I have been putting about ¼ to ½ the recommended dose every three days. I spot feed the Anemones and so far the water parameters have not changed. When I put this in the tank the Porcelain Crab and the Anemone Crab go crazy!!

Jay

Jay,

well, it does look like a whelk, but the important picture is getting a picture with the snail withdrawn into its shell (sometimes you have to poke the body to make it withdraw), so we can see what the opening of the shell looks like. Like this one:

Aye Jmait, those are safe ones. Im talking specifically about the Cirolanid isopods. The big ugly ones with the black eyes in Brian's avatar. Time for the stinky water trap.

Brian - OK will try some more picture taking!!:)

jezzeaepi - I understand now!:( I have watched but have seen none in mine. Good luck with the stinky water!

Did you find them on your fish? Good luck on the trap! Let me know if you have any questions.

just to let everyone looking for pat know, she's fine, it's her computer server thats sick!

Thanks for letting us know Bob. I was getting really worried something had happened to her!

An update on my tank/life: I am going to be moving in July. I took another job and we found out on Monday that the offer we made on a house was accepted.

One of the exciting things about our new house is that there is a real possibility of having an in-wall tank and a fish room....now to talk my husband into it :D
