i went last weekend nad it was a madhouse - I can only imagine what this weekend will be like - should be fun, in a twisted sort of way :)

Well if you thought it was a madhouse last weekend then words won't describe what it will be like this weekend.

I am disappointed today. I took a ride to Pets Warehouse hoping to finally get that male swallowtail I have been looking for. They had 2 there, but they were way too big. They couldn't find the other 2. :(

Does anyone have a recommendation for a fish and/or invert that will eat bristleworms, but won't touch christmas tree worms, feather dusters or corals?

I'm actually asking about Eunicid sp. of worms, they are the same size as medium bristleworms, they are becoming more numerous in my system and the larger ones like to nip my TBS brains :(

Pics!

Pics!

Here are some pics I took the other night.

I found this guy on the overflow when I turned everything on from my power loss yesterday.

Great pics Dennis! Looks like most everything did ok with the power loss. I love that picture of the hawkfish.

The angel seems like the only casualty and I'm not entirely sure the loss of power had anything to do with it.

some good stuff, last night at feeding i saw 3 pistol shrimp at the same time. i knew there were 2 big ones but i saw both of them plus a smaller one high up in the rock. and the acro frag i thought was dead now has some polyps showing.

That's great Bob! Boy your tank must have lots of "popping" with that many pistol shrimp.

I have some fun stuff with my tank right now too...my ricordea had a new baby (I'll try to get a pic tonight) and my lights showed up on Friday. I'm started building the hood this weekend but won't finish it up for a while. I'll post pics of it whenever I finally get it onto the tank :)

Fabulous pictures Dennis! Makes me miss my camera :(

For those of you that run ASM skimmers on their tanks, where do you keep the foam level in the skimmer? Mine is barely 1/2" below the point where it spills into the collection cup and I'm getting a wet tea colored skimmate. I would like to get a darker skimmate, sounds like I need to lower the level?

Of course my skimmer is still breaking in, but it is doing better than my old skimmer already :) 2 cups of skimmate in 3 days, probably another cup when I get home tonight.

Brian,

Yes to your skimmer question. I don't have an ASM but the concept is the same. For Dryer/Darker skimmate, lower the point the foam begins to be produced. Raise it for wetter skimmate.

Been doing a lot of reading lately trying to dial my overkill skimmer in too. :D

I haven't gotten any emails saying people posted. :(

That picture is beautiful Peggy!!

Brian...I agree...lower the riser tube a little bit to get a drier skimmate.
Once you get it set to where you're happy, you won't have to touch it. It's so easy!

Thanks for the compliments. A week after I got him I got new bulbs. I am running reeflux 12k. I put them in last Thurs. and ran the bulbs for 4 hrs. The next day 1 of the ballasts quit working so I have been running only 1 light for a week :( My new ballast should be here today though.

My three year old granddaughter got hit by a drunk driver on Thursday evening while out walking with her daddy. Thank God she did not get seriously hurt! A bloody nose, scraped leg and various bumps and bruises. They live in Suffield, CT and it's so hard being this far from them at times like this! She was thrown 10 feet!! Her most serious concern was that Princess's aren't supposed to bruise and bleed! :)

On a happier note, we went to Aquatic Visions and picked up some zebra turbos and a Molly Miller blenny to help combat our brown and green hair algae outbreak. The turbos are doing a wonderful job so far, eating away at that brown stuff. The blenny is settling in nicely and has been picking at both the brown and green algae. It's a really pretty fish - chocolate brown with a maroon overtone and a tail with white stripes/spots. It took the guy at the store almost 1/2 hour to catch her as she was in their rock tank. He took almost half the rock out of the tank to get her. It was a riot to watch him....we had told him he could take his time trying to catch her and we would come back next weekend to get her but he was determined that no little fish was going to outsmart him! LOL

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter!!
