Yep, strange, but pretty little creatures :) Here is the best shot I have of one so far:

ok, i got some pictures last night! i never figured how to post here however. if someone will give me an e-mail address i'll send them tonight

there is a sticky post in the newbie forum on how to post pics, if you're curious. it's daunting at first, but is pretty simple once you see how it works.

got the pm's. thanks. will get them out tonight. then we'll have a id contest. i think i'll also shoot some to tbs later.

Pictures of Bobs animal

Here are pics Bob sent me of his mystery creature. You can see the tentacles off on the right. I reduced the pics in size and played with the color balance to get them to show better.

Any guesses?

That is too cool. Bob, can you get any better look at the arms/worms close up? If they have the little bristles like serpent star arms, or heck, even suction cups like an octopus. What a neat animal mystery. The way they are curled up, they appear more like arms to a larger animal than individual worm bodies. Note how the curling occurs mostly in the last 1/3 of each "thread." Kind of like how fingers grasp/are mobile on our arms, the movements of the ends of these remind me of that.

if you look close in the first pic, you can see a smaller one to the left of the big one. i get the impression the main body is in the rock, and the arm looks like serpent arms, but of course its not.

Doing a water change and scrubbing some algae I actually broke the main stalk of my hammer coral. I think the weight may have become too much for it as it has grown HUGE. It had 2 little heads when I got it, now it has 15-20.

Anyways, no super glue, no epoxy putty so I just set it gently on the rocks. I supose this gives me a chance to move it to a better location.

Well if it is a medusa worm, then I think I have one too. Mine aren't as long "armed" as Bob's. I always thought it was a mini serpent star that just never came out of the rock.

Peggy is the one who suggested a medusa worm Richard. I'm just saying if it is, than I have one too. I always thought it was a mini serpent.
