over capacity skimmer

i have a 30 reef gallon tank. i am want to buy a deltec apf 600. will the nitrate lower after i run the overcapacity skimmer?

Yes it will have an effect on your future nirate levels by keeping your water cleaner. Skimmers remove organics and nirates have gone past that stage. However, to get your nirate levels down now a water change would help.
