Over flow tube

If I may......
Is a Tunze over flow tube (1001.740) suitable as a 'flow box' as such?
I have looked in the catalogue and website but bugger all info is available.
Any help appreciated (and excuse my stupidity)

The tube shouldn't be used on it's own, it is designed for use inside an overflow.
