Over Run with Anthelia

tagging along....we have a similar problem and anthelia seems to be close to impossible to control. At least with xenia you can get them to cleanly let go of the rock (or whatever they are attached to) to remove them.

I dosed my 30gallon with a single Fluke Tab, no more pesky anthelia. Lost a couple turbo's but that was it, SPS, LPS and paly's were not affected. Couple large water changes, carbon and skimming and everything was back to normal.

I have Anthelia that I would like to get rid of popping back up (thought I had removed it for good when using this older rock on a new tank) on some rock in my gorgonian system - would the medication mentioned above harm the gorgonians?

Also, I read somewhere (may have been here on RC) that PraziPro can be used instead of Fluke tabs - any thoughts?

Never expected Anthelia to be such prolific colonizers. Looks like I won't be getting any; thanks for the heads up and best of luck holding them back.

I wish I knew you could get rid of them with fluke tabs, when I upgraded I threw away about 50 pounds of live rock...

The only way to get rid of it IMO is to take out any rock it is on and let it dry for a long while..ie weeks..then re introduce it little by little to become live again.

Get some Green Horn Coral (Hydnophora) and put it next to it. That's how I eliminate it. I also just took out a bunch of rock and blow-torched it.
