Over-skimming

what affect does overskimming (like having a skimmer rated for a 250g on a 55g) have on zoos? willl zoos do well?

You should be ok with over skimming your tank. Keep in mind though that they may not spread, or expand as much in a tank that it super clean. I have heard that some of the barebottom, UV, ozone, super skimming reefers have a hard time growing zoas. I have seen tanks with a high skimming, high flow, and light combination grow zoas well (these were mainly SPS tanks).

If I were you, I would try it out with some cheaper zoas before you go out and buy some more expensive zoas.

i have a coral life super skimmer 65 on my 5.5gal. And the zoas and great.
