this is the first ive heard of this... i know alot of us are using koralias and was wondering if anyone has tried this or is it bs?? it would be nice to double the output though :D

i have not done this mode, but having a larger prop would not be an issue, you can have more flow with a sacrifice :D the pump has to be out of the water to start rotating :D

right now im running a k2 with a k3 impeller with no problems. i had a k4 impeller in it but that was to much flow for my tank. been running this way for almost 6 month.

I have only heard of that for the maxi jets.
Thats common for all powerheads, on my rio2100 mode I have about 7000gl phr flow with a twin prop, that dosnot start till is out of the water, also for all my MJ mods is the same, if the prop is over sized, the powerhead has to be out of the water to start.

I've heard they rattle and start making a noise after a while. Is that true?
They do, after a while the noise and rattle goes away, some of them take a month @#$@$#
