overflow and pump

I just got a new overflow, j tube with two tubes ( 1" and 3/4" I think...). The problem is they don't seem to keep up with my 7 mag pump. I don't really want to put a valve on the pump because I want to move that much water but what other alternative is there? Can I change out the smaller j tube for another larger one? Any suggestions out there?

I didn't know you were going to set your tank back up... uhmm... wish I had of known,... we could have drilled that beast when it was empty..

how do you mean it doesnt seem to keep up? sometimes you have to get the water level in the display pretty high to make the overflow pull. is there any air in the j tube?

I agree with hambandit. Try putting a air hose in the j tube and removing all of the air bubbles.

If I have any air bubbles in mine it won't flow right and my tank would overflow.
