overflow and return pump

i just bought a refuge combo kit

it comes with a 1200gph overflow.. i was wondering what appropriate pump should i get for it. (though it comes with a rio 12 hf i think its not enough but am not really sure.)

The only problem you are going to have with that overflow is the GPG that are going to be going thru the fuge. I wouldnt do anymore than 600GPH through a fuge, if you do you will be kicking up sand, and throwing macro algae everywhere.
The good thing is you can control the flow from the overflow in the drain lines by using a ball valve. This will let you determine how much water flow you want going through the fuge.

This will aslo let you use the return pump that came with the kit.
Now you wont have to worry about the sump overflowing if the pump cant handle it.
