I have an Iwaki pump MD30RLXT rated fot 960 gph @ 4' ft. Right now my HOB overflow box is doing fine with the two 1'' drains it has. In a couple weeks I am moving out to another apartment and I want to change my tank to a drilled one.
The 90 g Aqueon I am looking forward to comes with an AGA mega overflow box but only has 1" drain line. Would that be enough for my 960 gph pump?
I have researched that overflow box and it is rated for 600 gph, but people say that is a safety factor and it can handle a lot more. is that true?
My tank is doing great right now with this higher flow
