overflow box

My overflow is making a tiny ringing noise. Any ideas as to what this is? How much of the silencer comes apart to be cleaned? It is one Chris built.

Is the air hole in the top of the durso plugged with salt creep? I usually have to clean mine every few months.

No it isn't. I took the box off and rinsed it well. Couldn't see anything blocking it. That is why I need to know how much it comes apart.

The Silencer will come out of the box, just twist a little and pull it out. Just be sure to hold onto the side of the box, to keep it stable. You can do this with the overflow running. When it is cleaned out just replace it back into the box.

The Silencer will come apart also, it has the top muffler peice and the lower peice is the standpipe, these will seperate to allow easier cleaning.
