overflow for cube?

The center overflow is your best bet.
i know some people dont like center overflows because it can be hard to cover up and the center of the tank is a focal point visualy but then you can do cool stuff like seting a mesh cylinder around it and then hanging LR with zip ties and having a rock pillar in the middle i have seen some very cool cylinder tanks

you could go sumpless and just use a closed loop with the intake and return in the center so its easier to cover vs having the overflow going all the way up to the water line or if your wanting to run carbon or anything you can use a canister filter plumbed to bulkheads in the middle of the bottum of the tank like in this thread

i knw the guy in the link above had a doseing pump hooked up somehow for auto top off but im new to this kind of setup so i wouldnt know exactly how it would work. for me id just top off and dose from the top but i know some dont like to have to do that. i guess i like to do things the old fasioned way lol. aslo for me it would be easy since i never dose anything so id just have to topoff.

yea the dosing pumps are way up there. i know i couldnt aford one. for me when it comes to evaporation water i just add it once a day and its alot cheaper and takes a whole 10 seconds but i know alot of people dont like to have to worry about topping off.on my 2.5g i just top off once a day and its fine and i dont use any additives and never have aslong as ive ran reefs but i dont have many sps so theres no need for any extra calcium. where did you get your tank from anyways? id like to get one the same size of yours.
this will be a sps tank, so i wanted to dose Randy's 2-part. it will be sitting on my kitchen island so i want it viewable from all sides, and from the top.
when i had my 125gal i never dosed, growth was so-so, then i started with the kalk and everything took off. so i for sure want to dose.
the tank was bought used, for only $20.

well you got a nice deal then. but yea when i get moved and go to a larger tank ill defenantly want to dose also since im planning more sps.im also wanting to start a larger cube that you can view from all 4 sides and i think ill just do the stockman standpipe as you mentioned already.
