overflow plumbing ???

I was wondering if the drain from my central internal overflow can be tee'ed or y'ed to flow to the left compartment of my three compartment sump/refugium,i want the drain to go here cause its where my skimmer will be.Basically im wondering if there are any problems if the overflow doesn,t drain vertically straight down to the sump? You see my sump is designed in three compartments skimmer/return/refugium and with a central (hopefully blue series tank) the overflow will be centally located and the drain is over the return section of the sump and not the leftmost skimmer section of my sump set-up.Hope this makes sense, thanks.

You actually don't want a vertical drop if you can help it... you also want to avoid 90 degree bends, especially 90's right after a pump or drain.
