I have a 120g with corner overflows set up in my office. It's been up for about 2 months now. I was working on my computer when it just started getting louder and louder and louder. Sucking air from one of the pvc pipes. There is an airhole drilled in the top of the pipes and it "U's" over which I thought was to prevent this. I need quick suggestions! PLEASE! My house is pretty big and I can hear it on the other side of the house. PLEASE HELP!:eek1:

Is the air hole clogged with salt creep or whatever? Poke something in there an be sure its clear.

Can you post a picture of your setup? If you have a standpipe, this shouldn't happen if your airhole is open and big enough. I agree with the post above that your air hole is likely clogged.

I build mine with at least 2 good-sized air holes and with a cap that allows the hole sizes to be adjustable to minimize noise.

Hole isn't plugged... Drilled two more...still noisy! Anymore thoughts? I actually ran a 1/2 inch clear tube into the intake and have the other end out of the water...helped a little bit but still louder than the first month of it running which was basically just the sound of the water trickling through the overflow slots. Very relaxing then. Now kind of annoying. Thanks for the comments and thanks in advance for any other suggestions!
