overflow too narrow for plumbing

Hey all,

I remember reading a thread on here not too long ago where a guy's overflow was too narrow to get the plumbing inside for the bean animal set up. Anyone able to find that thread? I can't find it for some reason?

I am having this issue now. I have the overflow box inside the tank (not doing an external box as well due to space) and found that it is going to be an extremely tight fit for the 90 degree elbows coming straight out of the bulkhead. any ideas how to remedy this or is there any reason I will need to remove the elbows? I plan on putting a removable lid on top of the overflow so the snails and fish cant get in the box.

The pic attached is what I am doing except I am not coast to coast.

I nearly had this issue. Used street elbows and it worked. Chopped off half of one of the elbows to shorten it and added some vinyl tubing with teeth cut in it to make the gurgling go away.

thank you. I will give that a shot. Have you ever had to remove the elbows to clean? That is my main concern with having such limited space.
