I am setting up my QT since I discovered ICK on my blue tang today...sucks. Anyways the only heater that I have available is a 250 watt. Can i use that one as long as the temp is set correctly or will it cause me problems??? I can buy a new one but would rather just use this since its available right now.

I got two options. Either this 300 watt heater is going to heat it up, or it won't...

When I do a water change, I don't unplugged nothing.

I doesnt matter how large the heater is as long as the temperature is set correctly.

Actually, it does. Remember that when a heater fails, it is usually the control mechanism that fails, and usually in the on position. I strongly recommend that any heater be controlled with a ranco controller. You will sleep much better.
