overkill?

would you say that your skimmer is overkill for a 30-40 watervolume system? Will be kinda fed heavy, and moderatly heavily stocked sps dominated lps reef.

Yes, probably so. I haven't tested one on a 30 gallon system so I honestly can't say for sure. We've had people use them on 60 gallon tanks before with good success.

I have mine on a 30 gallon with a 10 gallon sump and it skims consistently. I do feed heavy. Couldn't be happier with the skimmer.

I'm running one on a 15 gallon DT and 30 gallon sump. Roughly figure system volume at 30 to 35 gallons.

There is not much to skim in the first place, but the Peg Leg still pulls some nasty stuff out.

Been very happy with mine as well.
