oversized skimmer ditching fuge....

So I just picked up a sweet skimz skimmer and I'm debating taking my digest offline. There hasn't been much growth and its a small part of my sump anyway. Just wondering if there would be any ill effects from turning the lights out. Tia!

Great skimmer are great. But I believe a well designed fuge can be just as good.

Actually, if you added an Algea Scrubber to the fuge, you would not need a skimmer. jmo though.

I ran a scrubber before. Space was an issue so I had to take it offline because the surface area was to small for my tank. I picked up a new skimz sm 201 to replace my euro reef. I'm loving the new skimz skimmer.

A buddy of mine has the biggest bubble king and also the biggest skimz and he said the skimz is right there performance wise and at half the price! Try to replace something on a bk without paying out ur behind!

You will most likely have a larger PH swing vs what you have now if you are taking a reverse lighting schedule fuge offline.

I was getting a 0.15 swing with just a skimmer, adding a 24"x6" ats on a reverse schedule put me in the 0.02-0.03 swing range.
