Oxymonacanthus longirostris pair enters a mixed reef environment

Looking great, Renton. The fish and the photos. Could you spare a FTS for us?

Sure can:

Here is a video a friend of mine did on my tank a few months ago:

This video pretty much looks like it was made with sticks and rocks compared to yours, Renton. Nevertheless, feed time the other evening.

To be fair I did not make the video, my friend did and he has mad skills in putting videos together.

Small Alien - I believe I have said it before but your choice of fish is outstanding! Great tank!

Thank you. Some day I hope to have a tank like yours!

If I did I would have a pair of boxfish and a touretfish! I'm all about the Tetraodontiformes!

Renton, beautiful tank. Do the OSFF do noticeable damage to the SPS or just cause no PE?

Both of your videos are awesome, I really enjoyed watching them.

Just wanted to share another food that these fish will eat. I picked up two males 6 days ago and I was able to get both eating NLS pellets on day 2. For the first day they just nibbled but now they are aggressively attacking the pellets. I tried some different pellets today with the same results, Fauna Marin Ultra Marine Base Color pellets. I'm just glad they both have full bellies even though I haven't seen any weight gain but I suppose its early. They aren't eating anything out of the water column yet, but hopefully soon. I also have to put the pellets down onto the rocks and they pick them off. Hope this info might help someone, cheers.

You bet.

This was taken a few days after I got them, they are a bit fatter now but not 'out of the woods' just yet.

What is the behavior of the two males like?

So far it's not bad at all, one of them shows dominance during feeding time but it's nothing more than some minor chasing. He still allows the other one to eat though. I have a video of them interacting while eating but it'll be a couple days before I get time to upload it. All in all, I'm very surprised at how well they are getting along, you'd almost think they are a mated pair. lol

Also, where did you get the animals and were they already weened?

Picked them up at an LFS in Canada. (Not Online) This particular store QT's their fish for 2 weeks before selling them and I was told that they were eating a blend of frozen food concoction, this may be true but I haven't been able to get them to eat any frozen food other than Cyclopeeze so far. I have my doubts that they were eating much if anything but the pellets are doing wonders, so that's good.
