oxypora and chalice care

They are a pretty easy coral to take care of. Just make sure you have ample space around to prevent stinging from occurring. Typical LPS care.

The nice thing about these corals is each of them have their own little sweet spot for coloring up. Some like more light and others do not. Very interesting coral because the color can shift pretty easily.

These usually come in without alot of color. However, they start coming alive after coloring up in our holding tanks for some time. However, we often find the coral will morphs into a completely different color or shade in our customer's tanks. Depending on what kind of lights they use as well as intensity.

YOu didn't specify on who does the stinging, the chalice or something else, what I'm trying to ask is if these guys are aggressive? An thanx, btw I really like your site, nice stuff...
I notice that you guys have a lot of chalice, so I know that I can trust you, that's reassuring.

They can be pretty aggressive. Make sure there is enough space around them. Like most LPS they have some killer sweepers.

These corals are one of the easiest to frag :). The same technique that you use on montis would be fine.

Thanks fire :)

They will lose color but not brown out in the same way sps does. Usually depending on what depths the coral was collected at they actually do better in low light especially at first. Most of the chalices if put under intense light will lose color - In our experience at least. Kind of the opposite reaction then most SPS.

my lfs fragged me some enchino for me, it's pink with green mouth, I'll post a pic tonight... the guy at the lfs said that it should heal and startgrowing within a week.
