ozone with a ASM skimmer?

Anyone running ozone with a ASM skimmer? I was wondering how to set up the GAC on the outflow of the skimmer and on the collection cup.

I run ozone with an ASM G-2. I used to run carbon, and I know that it is most likely safer to do so, but I've been running it for a long time without it and have never noticed a difference. Ozone is very very unstable and breaks down very quickly on its own, with little chance of actually reaching the display tank.
But when I ran carbon, I did it by putting the carbon actually inside the skimmer return pipe. I didnt put it in the collection cup, because I figured that to be pointless since the ASM skimmer is not open on the top. Hope that helped.

Personally I wouldn't since even new they feel brittle and thin.

I guess I'm still a little uncertain how to run the skimmer output threw carbon. I was concidering putting a 90' elbow on the outflow pipe and direct the water into a peice of pvc with gac inside of it. Not sure if adding a 90' elbow would alter the performance of the skimmer.

It's much easier to either make one or buy a reactor. If you put a 90 on the skimmer, you risk creating a siphon effect. If you put a "T" on the output, it may eliminate that problem though. Read the articles by Dr. Farley about ozone and the problems with ozone reaction chamber length of contact time issues.
