Ozone?

Hello.

I watched a video from reefvideos.com and noticed that one of the guys tanks, that they used Ozone.

Ozone? What the heck is that?

Can I dose Ozone into my smaller 68 gallon tank?

How does one dose Ozone?

Ozone is a very strong oxidizer, used in conjunction to aid skimmer efficiency. But this piece of equipment would turn the whole tank sterile w/ U would not want. Readind of 350 to 380 is perfect on your ORP controller dont go any higher than that. I used them but not all the time, my tank stays constant at 360 that water is clean but not sterile..................Peace

yeah i have one and it basically adds O3 ions to the water which is highly reactive with waste particles. ive found that my tank looks clearer with it, but I ussually only run it in very small doses or not at all, depending on the oxygen redox potential, ORP, which basically indicates the amount of oxidation reactions in the water. i think i enjoy it more because its neat rather than its actual use! who doesnt like tinkering with crazy stuff in their tank!
