Anyone running ozone on their tanks? been doing quite a bit of reading on it and it seems quite a few people out there love their ozone unit. I was just wondering if anyone in socal has had experience with it.

I use an ozotech and love it. Keeps the display water clear as air (not socal air-nocal air hehe)

is that the only benefit? Keeping water clear so its pleasant to our eyes

or is it more along the line of clear water=happier and healthier corals?

I have a RedSea AquaZone Delux...not all happy with it. I'd never buy a unit that has a built in controller again. I'm all for running Ozone.

thanks jendub, i was thinking the sanders ozonizer. We'll see though...

Golfish, why aren't you happy with it? Does it help with the clarity though?

I was runing RedSea AquaZone 100mg Ozoner with luft pump and Ozone Reactor. I'm happy with water crytal water but planning changing to zeovit so I'm no longer using ozone.

The generator doesn't seem to be working very well..If I had seperate units it wouldn't bother me so much to have to replace one, but now I have to replace both because the contoller will only control the built in generator...Buy seperate units.

FWIW, I do use some Zeovit products.

Yellow I would be interested in your Ozone unit if you still have it I think the one I have is to small for my tank

if anyone is selling one, let me know haha. I just want a 50mg/hr one.

probably wont be enough for 120...............aww, what d I know

If you use an air dryer you don't need as much ozonizer, if you don't run an air dryer it will cut your efficiency quite a bit.

I'd recommend getting an ozotech, they are really well made units. The adjustable one is the best so you can dial your output but they cost $500+, the smaller 150mg would be a more affordable choice at $200.

Ozone will increase your skimmer's performance quite a bit so it's good for boosting output. It helps strip the organics out of the water =)

Yinger If you want my small one I would be glad to sell it. You have first go at Yellow worlds if you want it. I bought a small one so I would not have to worry about it possibly causing a problem, but I think it is too small for my set up. The Sanders one are supposed to be a good for the money. I should have bought one of them to start.
Yellow world, if Yinger is not interested what do you want for your set up?

steve, its yours if you want it. i don't need the reactor or anything. I was just looking for the ozonizer and air drier. Which model did you get?

Yinger mine does not have an air dryer. It is a Sonic brand 300 mg/hr with built in air pump. Here it is on Ebay> High Power Water Ozonator 300 mg/hr Ozone Purifier Ion Item number: 220015252308

I would not recomond this one, for the price it is crap! The first one I got did not work at all. The second one worked for a couple of days. I took it apart and fixed the unbelivabaly poor soldering job and insulated the connection as it was shorting out. So mine is better then new now, but that is not saying much. I don't know why Ozonisers are so expensive, their is nothing to them!
There is probably $5.00 worth of parts and they sure did not bust the bank on labor! Arn't I a good sales man? I know you have your walets out looking to hand me money! Sorry I looked up what I had paid and got bent about it. I didn't think it was that much. ($60) If anyone is interested after my fine sales job, I would take $40.00 for my tricked out improved slightly used (less then two weeks) Ozonizer.
