p/e extension question

I have 2 high end pieces that I recently put into my display tank and placed them up pretty high in the tank maybe under 600 or so par. I noticed tonight that the polyps are extended twice as much on the underside of the coral vs the top side. what do you think? Too much light. The two pieces are rr pretty in pink and rr asia orange passion.
