Pac Sun Pandora S get hot

Molon Labe
Been hearing a popping sound coming from my Pac Sun tank and couldn't figure out what it was. I then notice and orange hue coming from the LED panel once the moonlight program kicked on.

The LEDs melted the splashguard and the moonlights were shining through burnt plastic-

This is the last of a string of problems with Pacific Sun. It's been removed and an ATI has been ordered.

Hello.

This kind of damage could happen when plexi glass is covered by salt - it block light and this cause overheating. If salt will be not cleaned for long time, glass will start to change colour and melting. It's important to keep clean plexi glass from salt and water.
Please contact with our service directly at service@pacific-sun.eu they will help You and send You spare plexi glasses for Your lamp - You could easly replace them by Yourself.

Best regards

Pacific Sun Service.

Salt creep is cleaned off every Wednesday and Sunday. That was not the culprit. Something was amiss with the computer as the light would not turn off or turn on unless I opened up the program and did "probe settings" and then "save settings". The light would then cycle through colors a few times and eventually stay on or off depending on time.

I'm not risking a second fire from this light. The power supply caught on fire (actual flames not just smoke) in Feb of 2014. Luckily I was at home and put it out before it spread. Looking back I probably should have made a bigger deal of the issue and scrapped the light but Yorgos was so apologetic and accommodating I let it go. I mailed the burned power supply to Yorgos who was supposed to get back to me concerning the cause. I never got a response

Bucket power supply rested on. Note it burned the UV housing near it

Light is going to a landfill.

I'm sorry to see that whats happen - its not usual situation and I regret that you not contacted with our service directly which is best way to get proper support/help with our products.
We stay behind all our products and never refused any issues sourced by hidden deffects(which can happen with all kind of products - unfortunately)
Thats kind of power supplys coming from old/first series of pwoer supplys(before 2014year) and since that time we use only FSP/Meanwell(after some mails from Customers which reported about ps which stopped working).
All Customers which reported us that got replacement power supplys(FSP/Meanwell).
So - please contact with our service@pacific-sun.eu directly, Im sure that they will take care about you properly(and it will be better way to fix it than communication via post on RC).

Best regards
