Pacific Blue Tang (Paracanthurus hepatus)

How are these fish as far as tangs go? I want to get some blue in the tank and you don't get much bluer.

I have a hippo, It's pretty tame. Shy as anything thou, it always hides when there are strangers, not for me or my wife.
Mine went through the ick spell, just fed it lots of seaweed and it pulled through.

They are fast swimmers, mine has knocked over things over by accident.

I love my Blue Tang, she gets along great with the others in the tank. I have a mix of tangs and they all get along very well.

I wouldn't place one of these in anything small than a 180 gallon aquarium due to their nature (crazy!) and size when full grown. Feed well or this species is extremey prone to HILLE.

I've got a big blue, probably 7-8 inches. He gets along very well with everybody else but I second Waffleman, the fish knocks over just about anything not securely fastened. He also went through a spell of picking up things and moving them to the end of the tank. Good fish, great color, and always out. I'de highly recommend. - Mark
