pacific coast chiller--problems

Anyone know anything about chillers. I have a CL450 from Pacific Coast Imports that I am having problems with. It's not cooling my tank. I hear the fan working but when the actual chiller would kick in to cool it with would turn on then off after a few seconds. I don't think it's the thermostat. I would tilt it back a little bit than lay it flat..then it would work. I don't know whatz wrong with this thing!!?? Anyone have any idea..or any know where I should take this thing to get it checked or fixed.

check the power supply, not enough power or did you plug it into a controller?

I think 450 model is 1/2 HP ? it neds it own plug/power supply.

It is a good chiller but I had for over a year so I don't think I can take it back. I have emailed the company...waiting for a reply.

thanhtan..
I had it plug into the outlet I had plug in before....which was working fine for the last 12 months

sps addict
looking for the spare fuse..I will try going to home depot today. thanx

I have services alot of automotive A/C at work and many chillers at home, they both work almost the same principle. Chiller does not have a low side switch therefore the compressor should run even there's no freon in the system and I doubt there's a fuse though. Please check your compressor STARTER.

Call Steve at PC. if you don't get it working, he maybe able to trouble shoot it. He is the owner, if you can't get him, talk to Tim
