what is the general size of pacific flounder? anything needed special? what do they feed. and also what about horseshoe crabs?

What species? There's quite a few in the Pacific.

As for horseshoe crabs, they get quite large and need lots of food. Best left in the sea, especially as their population is severely dwindling from a combination of overfishing, pollution, and shoreline hardening.

hm, i dunno, my LFS had a flounder in today. was only 13.99 and was just curious as to what its specifics were. hmm sorry i cant help with the specific species =/.

i was REALLY surprised to see horseshoe crabs in my LFS, i always knew they would get pretty big in the ocean so i was just curious. i would never even consider getting one, just not my thing.

I've seen a number of different flounders come through typical wholesale channels. In general, frozen foods like mysis and clam do well to feed most flounders. Size wise, depends a lot on the species. Best bet is to take a look through pictures on fishbase.org

The small horseshoe crabs are common in the trade at times, inexpensive and look cool so they sell. Unfortunately they make bad aquarium animals, but that doesn't stop a lot of stores or wholesalers from selling them :(

thats no good.. my LFS is generally realllly good about dealing with people when they buy something that isnt a normal easy fish to keep. he is a pretty cool/well educated guy that will get almost anything for me, which is VERY nice to have.
that flounder was just too cool! i change my mind CONSTANTLY as i do more and more research on the inhabitants of my aquarium. FOR SURE, i am gonna have a pair of true percs, a few banggai cardinals, and am unsure what else. but a flounder would be pretty neat, but i doubt i would ever buy one, i also think they belong in the ocean, but thats my opinion..
