Pacific Sun Kore 5th Dosing Pump

Is anybody using this pump that can give some solid input. Im hung on the fence between the GHL Prolifux Doser 2 and the Kore 5th. Not worried to much about the price difference as I want to buy the best I can get.

The difference is the quality of the motor (ie. longevity); GHL has stepper motors while PC uses regular DC motors that you find on cheaper units like Bubble Magus, Marine Magic, etc.

If I were to rate them:
DoS
Vertex
GHL
PC Kore 5th
----
The rest.

Why don't you rate GHL doser 2 better? I though they had the best quality and controllability using wifi. What is better with Neptune DoS and Vertex?

DoS uses the best stepper motors in the industry.

As for Vertex, I think the GHL Doser 2 is better given the expandability [level sensors and stirrers].

So:
DoS
GHL 2
Vertex
Kore 5th

I'd still get a Kore 5th, 5 dosers, AWC/ATO, stirrers and microdosing. It's best bang for your money if you need that many dosers.

Few words explanations.
Motors used in Kore 5th are not "china type" motors, we use Japan motors with double bearings and reinforced shafts/motor block. This motor can work with different speed and allow for very precise dose - 0.01ml(0.03ml is for one drop). I dont think so that any of above allow for similar precise.
From technical/precise point of view GHL motors aren't more precise, they use similar method of "power transmission" from shaft to rollers. Its not "fixed" connection, so it's working like in regular, most popular motors.
From this point of view - DoS and Neptune use real stepper mottors with fixed shaft("hard" connection between shaft and pump head), GHL 2 and Kore - the same type of pump head(with rollers touching motor shaft).

DoS use typical stepper motors, they are proven and good, but they are loud. This was one of reason why we not decided to go with stepper motors and we choosed best quality DC motors(not the same like in Jebao, BM or FM - which are using popular dc motors).
Only using best quality, milisecond controlled motors gave us possibility to set pump resolution to 0.01ml - so Customers can dose liquids (for Zeovit methode for example) without dillute.
Each doser above can work good and only from Customer its depend which will be the best(price factor, expandibility, equipment "from the box" etc).

I just read reef builder review of the DoS. The motor can go 5000 hours before it needs replacement. I wonder what the corresponding figures are for GHL doser 2 and Kore 5th.

Average lifetime for our motors is about 700-1000h. Everything depend from duty cycle - off time should be longer than on-time.
With avrage flow about 50ml/min - if you need dose 300ml daily it will work about 6min daily = 3 hours of work/month = 36 hours per year.
Motor with connector cost 25,00 euro.

I just bought a GHL 2 and can say the setup was fairly stright forward although I haven't finished setting up my wifi so I can't comment on that. The doser is super nice and you can just feel the quality. I calibrated the pumps and then tested some dosing and they are very accurate. I can say they are head and shoulders above chinese brands but I couldn't make a comparison with Dos, Vertex or PS as I have no experience with those.

I can also say the GHL and PS support here on RC is also second to none. I haven't really seen any presence of Vertex or Neptune on the forums but with PS and GHL you can ask a question and get responses very quick. That is worth alot when you're sitting up at 11pm with an issue and can pm or post a question and generally get a very quick response.

Neptune has their own forum and they have a telephone number you can call. I don't think any other "doser company" has the same level of support.

Sorry Przemek for the erroneous information on my part. I rate your product very highly BTW; best price for all the features you receive.

Customer service of both is great, Pac Sun even hops into pretty much every thread posted about their doser. Kind of makes for impartial reviews a bit tough.

I own a Kore 5th and have been happy with it so far.
Pros: Accurate, low dose options, ATO included.
Cons: Loud pumps, glitchy software that seems to have updates at least monthly.

@Viktor
Thank you for this short review.
Can you tell me which pumps are loud? Peristaltic pumps? We used quiet avalaible motors and they shouldn't be louder than any other like any other - and much quiet than stepper motors(like used in Vertex/DoS).

Not sure which type comes with the standard doser but those are the ones I have. Pumps 1-5 all are quite loud and most definitely are louder than any stepper motors I've heard.

I know this is a 6 month old thread. But searching info about the Pacific Sun dosing system it came across.

Unfortunately who rated the DOS at the top is wrong, and please no ofence.

I got last week 1 DOS for 2 part dosing serial number 8000+ (up to 5000 Neptune us changing the head for free, factory mistake) .

The DOS pumped whatever he wanted. Ordered another and returned that one. I am having the same issue. Most probably it will be returned too.

Customer support: 2 days calling, never answered. Also I called the seller extension, no answers. Placed a ticked, after 24 hours I got an answer, nothing of help. At 1 email per day (that was the answer speed rate) it will take an eternity.

I am very disappointed with customer service and the DOS system.

So I am debating now between the GHL doser 2 and the Pacific Sun.

My interes is a precise doser that I can see what is doing from any part of the world or USA at least. I travel a lot, mainly USA.

The cloud MY GHL seems too new and with a lot if issues. I do not know about Pacific Sun.

I have MAC at home and would like to be able with my Droid phone or PC or Tablet see what is doing the doser if I am in any part of USA. I can do that with the DOS, but it variability on the dosing volume and the software telling you that all is OK is frightening.

Thanks for any suggestion.

Somewhere your high school English teacher is cringing. Between the horrible grammar, misspelled words and incomplete sentences it's hard to even follow your post.

How much for teaching me English ? :reading:

:lolspin::bounce1::spin1::thumbsup:

BTW... I wrote it to check if you were smart enough to understand.

Enjoy life !!!! We only have one.

JajaJA !!!! I read it again and you are correct looks horrible the way I wrote it.

I will summarize it for you and other members :

- Neptune DOS failed in my hands. Dosing volume issues.

-looking for a doser that can be controlled from any part of the world (GHL or Pacific Sun ? ).

Clear enough ?
