packing snafu?

Just picked up some more cultured corals from Liveaquaria. Among the pieces were two trees. The DFS Neon Palau Nephthea is gorgeous and had a large piece of styrofoam rubber banded to the base in the shipping bag and kept the base from overturning and crushing this beautiful piece. While the Purple Passion Tree Coral had no styrofoam on its base and looks crushed and paper thin at this point like its base smothered it during shipping. Whereas I thought the styro was a genius way to ship corals as in the Palau, the lack of it on the purple tree perplexes me as it looks now that this beautiful coral is borderline where it is going to make it or not.
