Pagoda releasing stuff in the water

Hi,
Saw my pagoda cup coral releasing those in the water? It was under actinic lighting and I used my flash to get the shots so the colors are a bit off.
Can anyone tell me what is this? I spot feed the two pagoda corals I have 1 time weekly in addition to them catching some food from the water, do they defecate like anemones?
Should I continue spot feeding them or is it unnecessary?
Also I have them under strong lighting and strong current is it suitable placement or should I change it?

you are right. They are defecating. As long as your parameters are good they should be fine. How long have you had it?

That can also be old zooxanthellae

that was why i was asking about water conditions. Changes in water chemistry can cause them to expel there zooxanthelle if they are stressed.

Had the first one for around 2-3 months and the second one f0r around a month. both seems to be doing fine (opening at lights on and seem to be eating) they hae maintained their coloration and I guess are showing minor signs of growth at the edges. They were previously at the LFS display tank for months and had grown as the guy told me that they didn't have those "horns going out of them and they developed them in the time they were in his tank. any info about lighting and flow preference? My tank has been running for 10 years but I ugraded to a 150 4-5 months ago so yes the tank is new but I have 10 years old rock in addition to few new big LR that was added.The DSB was washed and I nearly doubled the sand content I had before with new fine coral sand. I have stable chemistry so far but had some problems with one of my anemones bleaching and a 2-3 unexplained fish deaths last month. everything has been stable for the last 2 weeks.

sometimes yes they do that ... but the also get rid of old and dead that way also.. not stressed
