Pain in A xenia

I admit, I got some xenia on an impulse buy a few months ago. It did fine, and eventually it even started to spend from its rock onto my glass, then it disappeared all of a sudden. But now, I have the problem with all these little xenia polyps popping up everywhere, and I have to remove them to keep from covering my zoas. So, my question is if I wasnt able to keep a full piece of Xenia, why are all these little guys now appearing?

It's all part of xenia's plan for world domination. Soon it will become self-aware and learn to exist out of water. There will be no escape.

Seriously, xenia is very adaptive, and it's trying to make a comeback after adjusting to your tank conditions. I'm guessing these little polyps will spread. You should try to put one somewhere you'd like it to be (assuming there is such a place) and see if it thrives.

I had the same problem. My dad loved my Xenia so much I gladly gave him my mother colony but now I have about 4 tiny ones sprotting up.

It doesnt survive long enough to grow large, there are just little polyps everywhere, everywhere, that never seem to grow into anything large. They just cover my stuff and that is it, just unsightly, so there is real no good place for them since I seem to have the only tank in the world that doesnt allow them to grow and really thrive.
