Paint color for fishroom walls?

The contractors started putting in the new sheetrock in the basement and I need to figure out a color scheme for the fishroom.

To make the tank/corals stand out more, would it be better to have darker walls (royal blue, burgundy) or brighter walls (beige, light blue)? The floor will either be tile or vinyl planks, color to be decided depending on the wall color. The larger tank (180g) stand is a light oak color. The other tank (75g) stand is black, but can be replaced to match the larger one.

The room is in the basement and is about 22' x 13' with 4 light fixtures embedded in the ceiling (sorry, don't know what they're called). This is my "man-cave" so it'll also have my computer, tv, recliner and bookcases. The bookcases will completely fill the far 13' wall so there are only the two long walls behind the tanks that are noticeable.

Let me know what you think (cuz I suck at home decor).

I think the color should be something to:
1 - keep you awake not sleepy
2 - bright enough to keep the spirits up
3 - bookcases will tend to darken the room
4 - make the back of the tank black or blue
& don't worry about it, the lights will take care of the "pop"
My room is a light sea green & with the darker stand & black back the tank displays just fine.

i think a lavender or some shade of purple would work well... and always a black background for any type of saltwater tank. any fish or coral that has a trace of blue in it gets lost against the blue background.

To give you an idea, I painted the wall behind the tank a darker blue color and I love the way it makes the tank look. Attached a picture for reference.

I scrape the glass every few days, so I don't give coralline a chance to grow on it. I like that clean look to all the glass.

I think it's gonna be a bold blue color with oak floors and white trim. The wife hates it, which means she'll be less likely to invade my sanctum ;) Gonna get some samples this weekend and see how they look. The contractors will be coming next week to start putting up the walls. Breaking down the 180 will be so much fun :P
