Pair of black occelarius, any interest?

I've been mulling the idea of selling my pair of black/white occelarius clowns. They've been with me for a long time and I've decided just to check and see if there is any interest in them.

The female was purchased from saltwaterfishcom and the male was from ocean design aquarium. They were both tank breed/raised. They have their full 3 stripes and are JET BLACK, NO orange. The female is about 3" long and the male is about 2" long. They are both very healthy and have been living on Rod's food for about a yr.

I have yet to see any eggs even though they do the shake thing all the freaken time (kind of funny looks like the male humps the rock). They are currently hosting in some green clove polyps and do their shake thing on a rock behind the gcp but I've yet to see anything, even though it's tough to see back there. So I do not consider them a breeding pair.

These fish do host as they hosted my rbta before it died on me. They've been hosting the gcp for about a yr and a half now and have totally ignored the new rbta that I added to the tank.

I currently seen a pair for sale at the drs and their asking price was definetly more then what I'm asking for. Plus my pair is definetly better looking then their's, as stated before mine are completely black outside of the white stripes.

Why am I seeling them? I currently have a 10 gallon tank with a pair of Rod's onyx clowns and they have colored up very nicely and I guess they are ready for prime time. I'm willing to give them a crack at the big tank....lol.

Again I am just checking to see if there is any interest for I do love these fish :) and am not 100% sold on selling them.

Drs are asking $229......I'm asking $160

I can post more pics if interested.

Thanks,

wow, and of course I see this post during the wek that i had no overtime on my check, if this was 2 weeks from now I'd probably buy them, oh well, free bump

How soon are you looking to get them out if you do sell them. I would be very interested but don't make it to Chicago very often. LMK.

Dave

Still thinking about it. I got a pretty good offer to ship them out to Cali even though I didn't plan on shipping.

hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm, not sure what to do. Common sense tells me to sell but ........DAMN....I wish I could clone them....lol

Why not keep them in the 10g?

Or, if still undecided, keep them until Dave (rare angels) can come down (more time to think about it). If you sell, they would be in great hands with him.

do you see them cleaning a particular flat area of a rock? Usually this is a sign that they are almost ready to lay eggs.

Well after talking it over with the women of the house (gf and daughter). We've decided to go bigger and keep both pairs of clowns in the same tank (I think I'll need at least a 180 but may go larger). I guess I just need a little more patience in keeping my onyx clowns in the 10 ga. Since we've decided to buy a house in the spring (giving me room for the larger tank).

I had MANY pms and I'd like to thank everyone for all the responses/compliments and apologize for not going through and selling them.

Thanks,

Gabriel

Wow! How long did it for Rod's pair to color up?

This is them when I first got them in the middle of June. The female is on top had no third stripe and the male hade a small white spot on both sides.

2 months later in September. The male grew his third stripe and the larger female barely got a white spot on 1 side.

Here they are today about 4 months after purchase:D .

Male is completely perfect and the female might not fully develope the 3rd strip but they are still fairly small. When purchased the larger one of the 2 was 1" and the smaller one was 3/4". Currently my female is 1 3/4" and the male is barely over an inch. Best birthday gift I ever got:D .

To give you a better idea on their size the blue tang that is in one of the current pics is about the size of a nickel.
