paired cinamon clowns

I have a pair of cinamon clowns that I added to my 90. I have a clarkii that seems to attack them both. Will this stop or does he have to be removed. There are two rbt in the tank. Thanks.

It will be interesting to see what others will say, but I believe that IMO, a 90g is not enough to keep to different kinds of clowns.

It may end up, that you will be fine, but keep an eye out as if the agression contiues, you may run into problems with them being stressed out.

How long has it been since you added them? How long has the fighting been going on?

Tank size is not the problem, its just that the Clarkii and Cinamon clowns are both semi-aggressive, "It is semi-aggressive towards other clownfish and passive tank mates." So id remove it.

hey dave,
I added them last nite. the aggression is still going on now. everytime I go in to catch the clarkii he runs. because of the rockwork there is no way of cornering him. I wanted to move him into my sump and put one of the rbt in there for him. not much luck right now.

The thing is, that you can keep any kind of clowns in really any size tank over 30 gallons, however, to try and keep two different kinds in a tank less than 6ft is a real gamble.

What I would try to do, is remove the clarkii temporarily, to another tank, without its BTA (making sure the cinnamons don't decide to host it). Then after about a week and a half, you should be able to put him/her back, once the Cinnamons have established a terriory of their own. Then put the clarkii back.

You should be fine. LMK if you have any other questions.

I personally think that I have a better chance of winning the lottery then this working out. ;)

You might have to end up removing some of the rocks to remove the clarkii. I have a pair of clarkiis right now, and they are pretty darn mean to anything that even looks like a clown. And back in the day I had a cinnamon clown --- meanest fish ever.

Wish you luck.
